Next Generation Water Conservation Technologies & Resilient Design
Did you know buildings globally use 14% of all available potable water, yet almost no buildings reuse that water?
Join Jonathan Farr from Epic Cleantec as he explains how severe drought and aridification is increasingly drawing attention to an often-overlooked topic of building sustainability: water resilience.
From greywater and blackwater reuse to full resource recovery, this session will describe the technology landscape, building integration options, long-term operations and maintenance requirements, and regulatory implications associated with the various onsite water reuse strategies.
- Understand the severity of our water scarcity crisis, limited resources of fresh water supply and how buildings attribute to mass water consumption.
- Gain an appreciation for onsite water reuse and its viability as a cost-effective and sustainable solution for the built environment.
- Learn what to expect during the permitting process and what resources, grants, and incentives may be available.
- Learn a real-life applicability of how these systems can be implemented locally.
- Review Texas water reuse guidelines, including regulatory statutes and current ordinances.
- Discuss how water reuse will impact plumbing engineering and design for future projects.
